At the 6th IIFA Awards, the film won a leading 7 awards, including Best Film, Best Director (Yash Chopra), Best Actor (Shah Rukh Khan), Best Supporting Actress (Rani Mukerji) and Best Music Director (Mohan). It also won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 52nd National Film Awards.
